Account Page

The Account page displays information about your Sumo Logic organization, account type, billing period, and number of users. It also allows the account owner to reassign that role to another user.

To view the Account page, go to Administration > Account.

Account Overview

When you go to the Account page, the Account Overview tab is displayed. This page provides the following information about your subscription.

  • Organization. Displays the name of your Sumo Logic organization, and its hexadecimal organization ID number.
  • Plan Type. Displays your account type for your Sumo Logic subscription.
  • Current Billing Period. Displays the start and end date of the current billing period.
  • Daily Log Ingest. Measure of your current ingest. If the Daily Ingest average over the billing cycle is above your  capacity, you will be charged the on-demand rate for the difference.
  • Retention. Displays the number of days your data is retained. This value varies for paid accounts.
  • Users. Displays the current number of users active in your account compared to the number of users allowed. (For example, 214 of 1000 used.)
  • Live Dashboard Panels and Real Time Alerts. Displays the current number of Live Dashboard Panels and Real Time Alerts in your account compared to the number of Dashboards allowed. (For example, 369 of 1000 used.)
  • Metrics. Measure of your metrics use by Data Points per Minute (DPM). If your Daily Usage average is higher than your capacity, you will be charged the on-demand rate for the difference.

Log Ingest Rate for Current Billing Period

This graph displays the amount of log data ingested in the current billing period compared to your per-day account limit. All times reflect PDT/PST and if you are in another time zone, you will need to adjust the times for your specific time zone.

  • The dotted line displays the account data ingest limit.
  • A green line indicates that you are within your account limit for ingesting data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.
  • A red line indicates that you are over your account limit for ingested data.

Log Ingest Rate for Previous Billing Period

This graph displays the amount of log data ingested in the previous billing period compared to your per-day account limit. All times reflect PDT/PST and if you are in another time zone, you will need to adjust the times for your specific time zone.

  • The dotted line displays the account data ingest limit.
  • A green line indicates that you are within your account limit for ingesting data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.
  • A red line indicates that you are over your account limit for ingested data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.

Metrics Ingest Rate for Current Billing Period

This graph displays the amount of Metrics Data Points per Minute (DPM) ingested in the current billing period compared to your per-day account limit. All times reflect PDT/PST and if you are in another time zone, you will need to adjust the times for your specific time zone.

  • The dotted line displays the account data limit.
  • A green line indicates that you are within your account limit for ingesting data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.
  • A red line indicates that you are over your account limit for ingested data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.

Metrics Ingest Rate for Previous Billing Period

This graph displays the amount of Metrics Data Points per Minute (DPM) ingested in the previous billing period compared to your per-day account limit. All times reflect PDT/PST and if you are in another time zone, you will need to adjust the times for your specific time zone.

  • The dotted line displays the account data limit.
  • A green line indicates that you are within your account limit for ingesting data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.
  • A red line indicates that you are over your account limit for ingested data. The line indicates the average amount of ingested data.

Change the Name of the Organization

The Account Owner can change the display name of their Organization. This can be useful if you are using Multi-account Access to switch between several Sumo Logic Organizations.

  1. Go to Administration > Account.
  2. Select the Account Overview tab.
  3. Under Organization, next to Name, click Edit.
  4. In the Change Organization Name dialog, under New Organization Name, enter a new name to be displayed.

  5. Click Change Organization Name.

The new Organization name is displayed.

Account Ownership

Free, Professional, and Enterprise accounts have an Account Owner. By default the Account Owner is the Admin who set up the account/signed up for the account.

Changing the Account Owner

The account owner can reassign the role to any other admin in your organization's Sumo Logic account. Once the account owner has been changed, only the new account owner will be able to see the Account Ownership section of the Account Overview tab.

To change the account owner role

  1. Go to Administration > Account.
  2. Select the Account Overview tab.
  3. Under Account Ownership, choose a name from the New Account Owner menu, then click Change Owner.
  4. After the account owner has been changed, only the new account owner will be able to see the Account Ownership section of the Account Overview tab.

Delete the Organization for a Free or Trial Account

The owner of a Sumo Logic Free or Trial account may delete his or her Organization from Sumo Logic, which will close the account permanently.

The Data Management tab allows you to enable the Data Volume Index. For details see Enable and Manage the Data Volume Index.

Billing

The Account Owner of a Sumo Logic Professional account also has access to an additional Billing tab, in order to change their billing information. For details, see Manage Billing for Sumo Logic Professional Accounts.
