Install the PagerDuty App and view the Dashboards

Install the Sumo Logic App

Now that you have set up collection for PagerDuty, install the Sumo Logic App for PagerDuty to use the preconfigured searches and Dashboards that provide insight into your data. 

To install the app:

  1. Select App Catalog, search for and select the app, and click Add to Library. (In the classic UI, click Library, click Apps, select the app, and click Install. If you don't find the app under Apps, it might be a preview app. Try clicking Preview to find the app.)
  2. Click Preview Dashboards if you'd like to see a preview of the dashboards included with the app before installing.
  3. In the Install Application dialog box, select the installation path (the default is the Personal folder in the library), or click New Folder to add a new folder.
  4. Select either of these options for the log data source.
  • Choose Select from Existing Source Categories, and select the source catalog from the Source Category list.
  • Choose Enter a Custom Data Filter and enter a custom source category beginning with an underscore. Example: (_sourceCategory=MyCategory).
  1. Click Add to Library.

Once an app is installed, it will appear in your Personal folder, or other folder that you specified. From here, you can share it with your organization. See Welcome to the New Library for information on working with the library in the new UI.

Panels will start to fill automatically. It's important to note that each Panel slowly fills with data matching the time range query and received since the Panel was created. Results won't immediately be available, but with a bit of time, you'll see full graphs and maps. 

Dashboards

PagerDuty - Overview

Top Alerting Services. Displays the Services that are causing the most alert incidents by name and count in a bar chart for the last 24 hours.

Top 10 Alerting Incidents. Shows the top 10 Incidents that are happening most often by name and count in a bar chart for the last 24 hours.

Top Escalation Policy. Provides information on the Escalation Policy that is causing the most escalations by name and count on a bar chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Triggered in Last 24 Hours. Displays all Incidents triggered in the last 24 hours in a table chart including details on type, created date, incident urgency, assigned user, escalation policy name, service name, and incident description for the last 24 hours.

Number of Incidents Assigned to Users. Shows the number and type of incident (high or low) assigned per user in a stacked column chart for the last 24 hours.

PagerDuty - Incidents Overview

Incidents Triggered. Displays the number of Incidents triggered in a single value chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Triggered by Escalation Policy Name. Provides the incidents triggered by policy name in a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Acknowledged. Shows the number of Incidents acknowledged in a single value chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Acknowledged by Escalation Policy Name. Displays the incidents acknowledged by policy name in a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Resolved. Provides the number of Incidents resolved in a single value chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Resolved by Escalation Policy Name. Shows the incidents resolved by policy name in a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Escalated. Displays the number of Incidents escalated in a single value chart for the last 24 hours.

Incidents Escalated by Escalation Policy Name. Provides the incidents escalated by policy name in a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Type of Incidents. Displays the types and number of Incidents in a stacked column chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

PagerDuty - Incidents by Urgency and Escalation Policy

Incident Urgency - Daily. Displays the number of incidents triggered in high or low urgency in a line chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

Incident Urgency - Weekly. Displays the number of incidents triggered in high or low urgency in a line chart on a timeline for the last 7 days.

High Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy - Daily. Provides information on the number of high urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a line chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

High Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy - Weekly. Provides information on the number of high urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a line chart on a timeline for the last 7 days.

High Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy. Displays the number of high urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a pie chart on a timeline for the last 7 days.

Low Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy - Daily. Displays the number of low urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a line chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

Low Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy - Weekly. Provides information on the number of high urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a line chart on a timeline for the last 7 days.

Low Urgency Incidents by Escalation Policy. Displays the number of high urgency incidents triggered by Escalation Policy name in a pie chart on a timeline for the last 7 days.
