MySQL App Dashboards

MySQL App Dashboards help you monitor the overview, general health, MySQL replication, and slow queries of your MySQL system.

The Sumo Logic App for MySQL provides insight into the health of your MySQL servers, replication status, and errors. It assists in tracking slow queries, and helps to troubleshoot issues before they become serious problems. The app consists of predefined searches and Dashboards, providing visibility into your environment for real-time or historical analysis.

MySQL Overview

Number of Excessive Slow Queries. Displays the number of excessive slow queries (taking more than five seconds to execute) over the last 24 hours as a Single Value chart. If there are no slow queries, the Panel will appear green. Otherwise, it will appear yellow and display the number of slow queries. (Slow queries are not considered errors, they are possible problems that you should pay attention to.) Click the Panel to drill down to the MySQL Slow Queries Dashboard for more details, or select the Panel property menu and select Show in Search to display the query on the Search page.

Number of Errors. Displays the number of errors over the last 24 hours as a Single Value chart. If there are no errors, the Panel will appear green. Otherwise, it will appear red and display the number of errors. Click the Panel to drill down to the MySQL General Health Dashboard for more details, or select the Panel property menu and select Show in Search to display the query on the Search page.

Number of Replication Failures. Displays the number of replication failures over the last 24 hours as a Single Value chart. If there are no failures, the Panel will appear green. Otherwise, it will appear red and display the number of failures. Click the Panel to drill down to the MySQL Replication Dashboard for more details, or select the Panel property menu and select Show in Search to display the query on the Search page.

Slow Queries - Hourly in a Week. Provides an overview of slow queries using timeslices of one hour over seven days, displayed on a timeline. Each day's slow queries use a different color line in the line chart.

MySQL General Health

Stopped Servers. Displays any server that has gone down in the last 24 hours and is still down, and also displays the time since it went down, the status, and any remarks. If no data is displayed, then no down-server events were identified in the last 24 hours.

Server Up-Down Event Count Over Time. Provides a simple count of server up-down events displayed as a column chart over the last seven days.

Error Log Type Over Time. Shows the error log type, either as a note, a warning, or an error, displayed as a line chart over a timeline for the last seven days.

Crash Recovery Attempts Over Time. Displays the number and frequency of crash recovery attempt events as a column chart on a timeline for the last seven days.

Top Errors. Provides information on the top errors on your system as a pie chart and lists the error message text to the right, for the last 24 hours. Hover over sections of the pie chart to display details in a pop up.

Top Warnings. Displays information on the top warnings on your system as a pie chart and lists the error message text to the right, for the last 24 hours. Hover over sections of the pie chart to display details in a pop up.

MySQL Replication

Replication Start-Stop Events. Displays replication start and stop events as a stacked column chart, along with their halfway marks as a combination line chart, using timeslices of one hour for the last 24 hours.

Replication Failures Over Time. Shows a count of any replication failures as a line chart on a timeline. If no data is displayed, there are no failures to report.

Replication Status Over Time. Provides information on replication statuses such as stopped, starting, killed, and failed, displayed as separate lines on a line chart on a timeline for the last 14 days.

Top Reasons for Replication Failures. Displays the top reasons for replication failures by error message and frequency as an aggregation table over the last 14 days.

MySQL Slow Queries

Top IP Firing Slow Queries. Displays the top IP addresses that are hosting slow queries as a pie chart with the IP addresses listed to the side. Provides information for the last 24 hours.

Top Users Firing Slow Queries. Provides details on the top users that are showing slow queries as a pie chart with the user names listed to the side. Displays information for the last 24 hours.

Slow Queries by Host. Shows the hosts that are causing slow queries as a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Excessive Slow Queries by Host. Shows the hosts that are causing excessive slow queries (taking more than five seconds to execute) as a pie chart for the last 24 hours.

Slow Query by Command Type. Displays the SQL command types causing slow queries (queries that take more than five seconds to execute) in a bar chart for the last 24 hours.

Average Execution Time by Slow SQL Commands. Shows the execution times of slow SQL commands as separate lines in a line chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

Slow Queries Over Time. Displays a count of slow queries over time in a column chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

Excessive Slow Queries Over Time. Displays a count of excessive slow queries (taking more than five seconds to execute) over time in a column chart on a timeline for the last 24 hours.

Top 10 Slow Queries by Average Execution Time. Provides an aggregation table of the top 10 slow queries by execution time, including the command text and the time details over the last 24 hours.

Top 10 Excessive Slow Queries by Frequency. Provides an aggregation table of the top 10 excessive slow queries (taking more than five seconds to execute) by frequency, including the command text and the time details over the last 24 hours.
