Our Installed Collector is installed and operates on your local environment, as opposed to our Hosted Collector, which resides on the Sumo Logic service infrastructure. After installing a Collector, the next step involves adding Sources. These Sources serve as endpoints that the Collector connects to, facilitating the retrieval and transmission of data to the Sumo Logic service.
